It’s next to impossible to think of Downtown Sarasota without picturing the corner of Lemon and Main, bustling with Mattison’s City Grille patrons dancing outdoors to live music.  From the moment the restaurant opened, that little corner has provided a captivating atmosphere that has always beckoned for passersby to stop on in for a glass of wine, a bowl of mussels and the opportunity to just relax at their sidewalk cafe.

Mattison’s formula of food and fun has worked for years, but that doesn’t mean they are about to rest on their laurels.  They are always coming up with new and inventive ways to interact with the community, whether it be hosting awesome events, like Nik Wallenda’s Niagara Falls Walk, or updating their menu to please the crowds.  And that’s what we’re here to chat about - their new crowd-pleasing entrees and tapas!

Several of the ingredients for these dishes, like the fruit, spinach and herbs, are organic and have been procured locally from John Matthews’ Suncoast Food Alliance.

Check out these delicious new menu items:

Salmon Filet:
Coriander-fennel crusted salmon on Moroccan couscous with sautéed spinach finished with red and yellow pepper coulis.

Chicken Saltimbocca:
Mushrooms, sage, prosciutto, mashed potatoes, and house vegetables.

Mussels and Clams:
Prince Edward Island steamed mussels and clams with tomatoes, garlic, white wine.

Belgian Waffles (available Saturday and Sunday à la carte Brunch):
Fresh berries, toasted pecans, whipping cream with your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham.

So, what’s your favorite thing about Mattison’s City Grille?  Is it the outdoor seating, allowing you to watch Sarasota evenings unfold before you?  Is it the live music that brings the street to life?  Is it the outstanding wine menu?  Or is it the food?  Come on, it’s always the food.
