The Ringling Underground - November 5th - Photo Gallery
A series of one night only events combining live music and experiential artworks in the Courtyard.
Amythyst Kiah & Her Chest of Glass is a Southern Gothic blues rock outfit based out of Johnson City, TN. Amythyst Kiah is the lead vocalist, rhythm/fingerstyle guitarist, and songwriter. She draws heavily on old time music and is inspired by the vocal stylings of R&B and country music from the ’50s to present. The sound on her solo album, Dig, is raw and sparse, with heavy lyrical content regarding such themes as loss, betrayal, and murder. https://www.facebook.com/herchestofglass
Wax Wings is an original confessional folk music sextet from Gainesville, featuring Brian Turk on upright bass, Andrew Cook on fiddle, Ryan O’Malley on drums, Aaron Williams on tuba, cellist John David Eriksen, and multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Chelsea Carnes. Wax Wings weaves various threads of influence including folk-punk, jazz, honky-tonk, and classical into a unique tapestry of incomparable harmony. With distinctively forceful vocals, Carnes captivates with relatable lyrics about friendship and loss. The results are strikingly textured and sincere compositions that both inspire and haunt. Their wide appeal has seen them playing both Gasparilla Music Fest and The Florida Folk Festival. https://www.facebook.com/waxwingsmusic
